Customer Needs

Meets Customer Needs:

Omega3! closely monitors the spending habits of consumers to ensure what consumers are buying are supplied whenever possible. A number of popular products and species stock is increased over the busy holiday periods for both the public and commercial business needs. Sales have been recorded and seasonal produce sales monitored to ensure adequate supply of stock during these busy and non busy periods.

The largest most successful activity we undertake to meet our customer needs is the immediate supply of fish and fresh seafood direct from the fishing boats, cleaned, filleted and included straight into the fridge display. It is essential to ensure the products are all immediately displayed when available as well as notifying customers should a specific or popular species not be available.

We have also introduced a customer loyalty card to increase return patronage of regular customers and locals. The card can be used all year round providing a special discount for these regular customers.

To increase patronage during the cooler winter months, Omega3! introduced a ‘Free fillet day’. After a level of purchases was achieved by the customer, a free fillet of a different variety of seafood was provided free of charge to encourage consumers to try different species of fish. This saw a number of other species promoted and was successful in increasing the sales of not so popular fish species and seafood.

In 2008 and on the cards for again later in 2009, Omega3! held a free fish tasting day. Located outside the shop premises the activity aims to provide consumers with the ability to sample some of the species that they wouldn’t normally buy. Proving very successful in 2008, the day increased sales of the not so popular fish species as well as an increase of general foot traffic and customers to the business.

Omega3! Future Vision:

Our management and staff of Omega3! can see the business growing further within the avenue of private seafood catering including platter supply and bulk supply to the local restaurants and hospitality businesses. While the current shopfront is a suitable size, the need for a larger preparation area may be required with the increase in platter production. Personnel actively review the business operations and daily presentation implementing innovative ways to improve the business practices! The business is always changing!
